Even though the world of Online Marketing can be full of challenges, there are opportunities for Internet Marketers that think Out of the Box. Just take the obvious case of trying to start making money with Online Marketing when it comes to pushing Affiliate Sales.
Even thought there are loads of Affiliate Products any web publisher can hock on their sites, I always wonder if the products, especially digital products, have been used by the publisher that has a banner or a link on their website or blog. In most cases I’ve seen from surfing around the web, I really doubt very much if they have.
In certain instances, this is understandable and surely expected. However, when someone has a digital product, such as an ebook that purports to massively increase your traffic with little or no effort, I think it’s a huge mistake, if you want to earn money, to promote it if you haven’t verified the veracity of the claims made.
In essence, I believe Online Marketing is first and foremost about making money online, but; and here is where I take issue with the practice of blind promotion, if you are placing product that you are recommending on your own property, shouldn’t you have at least tried it? Otherwise how can you recommend it?
I’m not talking about selling an ad to someone and I’m not talking about the button or banner alone. I’m talking about active promotion and pitching in context of your post or page. I know there are products where it is impossible to have tried everything you are promoting, but I see digital products being promoted all the time in content selling their virtues and I know the person hasn’t even tried using the product.
Face it, some stuff that falls into the digital product category are junk and the sales copy is misleading. The only piece of copy that is accurate is the line that says the results are not guaranteed and will vary depending how an individual applies the information. Yeah Right!

- If you are new to Marketing Online, most of what you need to learn can be found for free.
- If your are an Online Marketer, don’t ruin your credibility by promoting junk you have not tried. It will bite you in the ass!
